Wizards of the Coast has revealed details and dates for its Dungeons & Dragons releases in 2024, the game’s 50th anniversary year, and early 2025. The reveals build on the announcements made at Pax Unplugged in December (see “2024 ‘D&D’ Lineup”), but provide dates and new details for the new core books and other releases planned for the celebration of the anniversary.
Vecna: Eve of Ruin will street on May 21, 2024. The campaign takes heroes from the Forgotten Realms to Planescape, Spelljammer, Eberron, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and Greyhawk. It will ship with two covers.
The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977, by game historian Jon Peterson, will be released on June 18, 2024. It will include Gary Gygax’s never-before-seen first draft of D&D from 1973, a collection of fanzine and magazine articles telling the D&D origin story, and Peterson’s supporting text.
Quests from the Infinite Staircase, an anthology of six classic D&D adventures for character levels 1 to 13 updated for the current edition, will be released on July 16, 2024. It features the noble genie Nafas, who hears wishes made throughout the multiverse and recruits heroes to fulfill them,
Player’s Handbook (2024) finally has a release date: September 17, 2024. No word on whether early copies will be debuted at Gen Con.
Dungeon Master’s Guide (2024) will be released on November 12, 2024.
And rounding out the core books, Monster Manual (2025) will be released on February 18, 2025, with the greatest selection of foes ever assembled in the history of the game.
WotC also announced a number of licensed consumer products tied to D&D that are coming to market this year: footwear and apparel from converse, a LEGO IDEAS building set with minifigures, and, continuing the tradition of high-quality nutrition for D&D players, new food products from Pop-
Tarts.
