GLAAD has announced the nominees for the 35th annual Media Awards. The awards recognize media for their fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of the LGBTQ+ community.
There are two categories dedicated to comics, one for comics and one for graphic novels.
Dark Horse received five nominations this year between the two categories while DC received four, and Marvel received three.

Shortcomings which is based on the graphic novel by Adrian Tomine was nomiated for “Outstanding Film – Wide Theatrical Release.” Harley Quinn, the animated series on Max based on the DC character, was nominated for “Outstanding Comedy Series.” While Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, the animated Netflix series based on the graphic novels published by Oni Press, was nominated for “Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.” Heartstopper, based on the webcomic and graphic novel series by Alice Oseman, was nominated for “Outstanding Kids & Family Programming or Film – Live Action.” Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Nimona, and Transformers: Earthspark will compete for “Outstanding Kids & Family Programming or Film – Animated.”
