Stonemaier Games updated details on their recent announcement of the pending launch of Wyrmspan, a new dragon sanctuary building game.
The online response to the announcement of Wyrmspan was apparently overwhelming enough that Jamey Stegmaier was inspired to clarify a few points about the upcoming board game (see “‘Wyrmspan’“) in a recent blog post. The first point Stegmaier was clear to make was that Wyrmspan is not a reskin of Wingspan; it is its own standalone game designed by Connie Vogelmann, creator of Apiary (see “‘Apiary’“). Elizabeth Hargrave was a developer on the game, and Wingspan and Wyrmspan are projects that are independent of each other. Thus, Hargrave’s involvement in Wyrmspan will not impact the development of the next Wingspan expansion.
Stegmaier also added a couple of other nuggets of information about the upcoming game. Development and manufacturing of the game will be complete and ready to ship on January 31, 2024, and will head to webstore customers throughout February with the game arriving at retail in late March. He also mentioned that the print run for the first English printing of Wyrmspan will be 100,000 units.
