PokéStops turned gold without a Golden Lure Module during Pokémon GO Searching for Gold Research Day, Roaming Form Gimmighoul wouldn’t appear at Golden PokéStops if a Golden Lure Module wasn’t used, but Gimmighoul Coins were still available by spinning the PokéStops

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Spin Golden PokéStops galore during a day of research.

Pokémon GO is having its very own gold rush with the Searching for Gold Research Day on June 3, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time. Golden PokéStops will randomly appear throughout the event—no Golden Lure Module required! Although Roaming Form Gimmighoul won’t appear at Golden PokéStops where a Golden Lure Module wasn’t used, Trainers can still grab Gimmighoul Coins by spinning Golden PokéStops while taking on event-themed Field Research tasks and completing Timed Research.

Spin Photo Discs at PokéStops for Field Research tasks that reward an encounter with one of the following Pokémon. If you’re lucky, they might even appear as Shiny Pokémon—and it looks like they all might have something in common.

  • Caterpie
  • Magikarp
  • Nosepass
  • Sableye
  • Barboach

The following Pokémon are worth their weight in gold and will appear in the wild throughout the event.

  • Weedle
  • Bellsprout
  • Lickitung
  • Azumarill
  • Poochyena
  • Buizel
  • Tympole
  • Shelmet
  • Stufful

Go for the gold with Timed Research available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). These research tasks must be completed by June 3, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. local time. Trainers can purchase Timed Research tickets for friends they’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.

When you begin this Timed Research, you’ll pick a Pokémon from the list below and encounter more of them as you complete your Timed Research tasks!

  • Caterpie
  • Magikarp
  • Nosepass
  • Sableye
  • Barboach

Have a golden time, Trainers!
