Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Catch droves of Duskull, complete Timed Research, earn extra Stardust, and more on October 9.
It’s October and there’s no better Pokémon to celebrate the season with than Duskull, aptly known as the Requiem Pokémon. Pokémon GO is summoning this spooky spectral Pokémon on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Duskull may have a reputation for being nocturnal, but on October 9, it will make a rare exception and appear more frequently in the wild during daylight hours. Lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Duskull!
Any Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours. You’ll also earn three times the normal amount of Stardust for catching Pokémon. Don’t let yourself be haunted by regret over not making the most of your items!
Evolve Dusclops—the Evolution of Duskull—into Dusknoir during the event or within two hours of the event’s conclusion and Dusknoir will know the Charged Attack Shadow Ball. You can also complete Timed Research during the event to earn up to four Sinnoh Stones to help evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir.
Tickets to a Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, Nothin’ Dull About Duskull, will be available in the in-game shop for US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). There will also be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins containing 50 Ultra Balls, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and one Elite Charged TM. Don’t forget to trick-or-treat at the shop to snag 30 Ultra Balls at no cost!

- Duskull will be appearing more frequently in the wild! If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!
- Evolve Dusclops (Duskull’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Dusknoir that knows the Charged Attack Shadow Ball.
- To help you evolve your Dusclops into Dusknoir, you’ll be able to earn up to four Sinnoh Stones by completing free Timed Research during Duskull Community Day.
- 30 Ultra Balls will be available in the shop at no cost. Be sure to pick them up during the event!
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- There’ll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM.
