Dire Wolf Digital and Penny Arcade are joining forces again for Clank! Legacy 2: Acquisitions Incorporated – Darkest Magic, a stand-alone sequel to 2019’s Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated set to release next year.
Like the previous iteration (see “‘Acquisitions Incorporated’ Joins ‘Clank! Legacy’”), Clank! Legacy 2: Acquisitions Incorporated – Darkest Magic gives players a new Acquisitions Incorporated franchise and challenges them to seek out wealth and fame by exploring dungeons and facing boss battles. The game can be played cooperatively or competitively, and features legacy elements that will modify the game throughout the campaign. The end result will be a unique replayable version of the game.
This version will feature new characters with unique decks, new boss battles, cooperative scenarios, and cards with hidden scratch-off effects.
Dire Wolf is raising funds for the production of the game through a Kickstarter campaign that has attracted 4,197 backers to pledge $398,245 in support as of this writing (an average of $94.89 per backer). Backer fulfillment is scheduled for June, 2024.
Last year, Dire Wolf launched a modular-board version of Clank! called Clank! Catacombs (see “Dire Wolf Digital Announces ‘Clank! Catacombs’”). Clank! Legacy is built on the original Clank! design by Paul Dennen. Dennen’s new game, Wild Tiled West is releasing this summer (see “GAMA Expo News: Dire Wolf Heads for the ‘Wild Tiled West’”).
