Nintendo has announced the next Splatoon 3 Splatfest, which is themed after Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Read on below to learn more:
When choosing your partner Pokémon™, which type would you choose: Grass-type, Fire-type, or Water-type?
Yep, it’s true—the next Splatfest* in the Splatoon™ 3 game is going to be a Splatoon x Pokémon collaboration!
Splatfests are special, limited-time events in Splatoon 3 where players team up to champion one of three causes. After you make your choice, you’ll participate in Splatfest Battles, where the goal is to ink as much of the stage as you can without getting splatted too often. At the end of the event, the winning side will be revealed, and in-game goodies will be handed out (with the winning side getting more, of course).
The Splatfest will take place
from Friday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. PT.
Listen up, Inklings and Octolings! My Nintendo is going to offer a fresh keychain set to celebrate this latest collab. Stay tuned for more info!

Ink up the Splatlands in the next Splatoon game, available now! Enter the Splatlands, a sun-scorched desert inhabited by battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings. Splatsville, the city of chaos, is the adrenaline-fueled heart of this dusty wasteland. Even in this desolate environment, Turf War*** reigns supreme and battles rage in new stages located in the surrounding wilds. Dynamic new moves help these fighters dodge attacks and cover more ground, along with a new bow-shaped weapon to sling ink. The Splatoon 3 game is now available.
Earn cool in-game gear, take friendly photos, and more in the Splatoon 3 game with the Inkling (Yellow), Octoling (Blue), or Smallfry amiibo™ figures.
Journey through a new, open-world Pokémon™ adventure! Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities.
Explore a wide-open world at your own pace and traverse land, water, and air by riding on a form-shifting Legendary Pokémon—Koraidon in the Pokémon Scarlet game and Miraidon in the Pokémon Violet game. Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea.

Grass-type. Fire-type. Water-type. Since 1998 (or 1996 depending on where you lived), this debate has perplexed our great philosophers. In the Pokémon™ series, players typically start their adventure by choosing a Pokémon with one of these types. Each has its own strengths, and each has its own weaknesses. (Like, they literally have strengths and weaknesses—it’s part of the game!)
But now we bring the question back to you. When choosing your partner Pokémon, which type would you choose: Grass-type, Fire-type, or Water-type? If you have thoughts on this subject, let’s settle it in a Splatfest*!
Splatoon x Pokémon Collaboration Splatfest
Yep, it’s true—the next Splatfest in the Splatoon™ 3 game is going to be a Splatoon x Pokémon collaboration. Splatfests are special, limited time events in Splatoon 3. The Splatsville hub area gets decorated in a fancy way, and players with any Nintendo Switch™ Online membership can choose to champion one of three causes. After you make your choice, you’ll participate in Splatfest Battles, where the goal is to ink as much of the stage as you can without getting splatted too often. At the end of the event, the winning side will be revealed, and in-game goodies will be handed out (with the winning side getting more, of course).
So, is the grass greener on your side? Does reading this make you all fired up? Do you want to splash cold water on your opponents’ hopes and dreams? Well, it might be time to start practicing. The Splatfest will take place: Friday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. PT. If you haven’t already, you can purchase the game using the link below.
Also, don’t forget that the latest entries in the Pokémon series—the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games—come out on November 18!
Good luck, everyone.
