What happens if you take a D&D game, already set in a generally medieval-esque period and catapult it even further into the depths of history? You’d eventually get to a primordial time much different than what we’re used to. And if you’re interested in playing in such a setting, the Primordial Classes and Tools RPG supplement that’s up on Kickstarter now would certainly help make that game better.

From the campaign:

  • The all-new Primitive martial class is a fast, resilient, and sustainable hunter that chooses a unique hunting style to take down both predators and prey. Their 5 unique subclasses are the progenitors of modern martial classes that show the origins of fighters, barbarians, rouges, rangers, and monks. Each subclass is good at some things and not so great at others to ensure that in a whole party of primitives everyone still has their role.
  • The Primordial full caster class is a clever, innovative, and slightly insane gatherer that harnesses the mysterious RI to use powerful origin magic, but at what cost? Their 5 unique subclasses are the progenitors of modern casters classes that show the origins of different methods of spell casting. Knowledge, faith, blood, contract, and nature are each explored and rewarded in different ways.
  • DM tools include a new origin spell list with 30+ balanced and playtested spells as well as a primitive crafting system so your players can make everything from baskets to blowdarts and an integrated quest to make magic items. Speaking of items 15+ magic items that would not be out of place in the untouched wilderness and 30+ beasts and baddies to throw against your party.

The campaign is up and running now with 18 days left to go.
