Lots changed between D&D 4th and 5th editions. So, if you had an adventure made for the former, you might have issues converting it into the latter. Thankfully, Darklight Interactive is here to help. They’ve gone and updated The Heart of Fire, an adventure for 4th edition, and made it ready for 5th edition. The project is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
The Heart of Fire is a campaign and dungeon crawl designed for a party of 6th level characters, compatible with Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition.
DISCLAIMER: Unlike our past Kickstarters, because of the size of this adventure we are not offering Pathfinder versions of it. It will be exclusively for D&D 5E.
It was originally published by Darklight Interactive as a D&D 4th Edition product through the 4E SRD, so this Kickstarter is to do a full conversion of the original 135-page adventure. Converting it is admittedly no small task due to the nature of the differences between 4E and 5E (for example, it is extremely encounter-centric), but that’s not that much of a concern in any sense except the time it may take. And there are some things that may require adjustment simply because they don’t currently exist in 5E.
The adventure can be considered a dungeon crawl, but it does have a few surprises in it. The expected “final boss” is the great dragon Vulkanon, but there is a more powerful entity at play, an entity known only as “The Voice”, that yearns to be free from its prison within the mountain.
The campaign’s around 4/5 of the way to their goal with 13 days left to go.
