The Lost City debuted in first place with an estimated $31 million. The film also earned a reported $3.7 million from the international box office to deliver a worldwide opening weekend gross of $34.7 million.
In second place was The Batman which lasted the previous two weeks in first place. The film earned an estimated $20.5 million which brings its domestic total to just under $332 million. The film’s international gross is now $340.9 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $672.9 million.
In third place was RRR which debuted this weekend. The film earned a reported $9.5 million domestically. No international returns have been reported.
Uncharted dipped to fourth place with an estimated $5 million to bring its domestic total to $133.6 million. Internationally, the film earned about $12.5 million to bring its international total to $223.9 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $357.5 million.
In fifth place was Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie which had a solid second place showing last weekend. The film dipped 69.1% and earned an estimated $4.6 million to lift its domestic total to $27.7 million. Internationally, the film earned $4.7 million over the week to bring that total to $116.9 million and $144.6 million worldwide.
In comic film news…
Spider-Man: No Way Home came in eighth place as the film is also available digitally. Even with that, the movie earned $2 million to lift its domestic total to $800.6 million. It also earned about $1 million over the week internationally to bring that to $1.088 billion and a worldwide total of $1.889 billion.
The King’s Man didn’t chart this past week and its domestic gross remains steady at $37.2 million. The film looks to have earned a little internationally with a new total closer to $88.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $125.9 million.
Initial numbers have 28 films earning $82,137,918 from 34,693 theaters. That’s a bit of an increase from last weekend’s 57 films which earned $80,262,519 from 32,725 theaters theaters. The average earning was $2,367.57 this past weekend, a decrease from the previous weekend’s $2,452.64.
