TKO Studios has announced two new graphic novels that will be released digitally and to comics retailers on March 15 and to the book channel on May 1. Both books will be released as softcovers with an MSRP of $19.99.
Black Mass Rising, by writer Theo Prasidis and artist Jodie Muir, is a sequel to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, set one year after the events of the original novel. With Dracula dead, things are looking up in Transylvania, until a the mysterious Healer, who heals both people and land, arrives in town and a new evil is stirred up.
The Forgotten Blade, by writer Tze Chun and artist Toni Fejzula, is a fantasy story about a land where magical waters can grant the residents great powers, but the waters are closely guarded by the tyrannical Church of the Citadel. With two children’s souls at stake, a warrior with his best years behind him goes on a mission to infiltrate the church, find the source of the waters, and strike down the evil god who reigns over it all. Chun is the co-founder of TKO Studios; Fejzula was the artist for Greg Rucka’s Veil (see “Greg Rucka’s Creator-Owned ‘Veil’ from Dark Horse”).
Although TKO publishes some of its works as boxed sets of comics, these two will be graphic novels only. The publisher recently signed on with Simon & Schuster for book distribution (see “TKO Signs with Simon & Schuster for Book Distribution”).
