For U.S. Operations

Universal Distribution has added a senior member and promoted from within to expand the executive team managing U.S. operations, the company announced.

Longtime Asmodee executive Colton Carpenter has joined Universal Distribution as Senior Vice President of Sales.  Carpenter was most recently Asmodee Director of Product Strategy, but spent five years in sales roles at the company, finally as Director of Sales in 2023 and 2024.  Carpenter will bring a focus on elevated retailer relationships and a close connection with purchasing (he also spent time as Director of Vendor Relations at Asmodee) and organized play functions.

Tim Leneghan, who came to Universal last year as Vice President of Purchasing & Publisher Relations, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Purchasing.  Leneghan spent many years at Diamond as Chief Purchasing Officer and in other purchasing roles.  He brings that experience and analytical approach to business development to his new role as SVP.

“We have a clear vision for Universal’s future, and assembling an exceptional leadership team is central to achieving it,” Unviersal CEO Angelo Exarhakos said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “Our success will be built on the strength of our relationships with retailers and suppliers, our ability to deliver outstanding service, and our willingness to invest for the long term.  Colton and Tim are highly respected industry professionals who share these values.  Their experience and leadership will help us build a stronger, more responsive organization and further establish Universal as a trusted partner across the hobby industry.”

Universal has been steadily adding game (see “New Agreements for ‘CookieRun“) and comic (see “Rebellion Adds Universal“) suppliers as it expands the base it acquired with Alliance Game Distributors last year.
