Catalyst Game Labs is currently developing new tabletop games based on He Who Fights With Monsters, a popular LitRPG novel series by Travis Deverell (a.k.a. Shirtaloon).
He Who Fights With Monsters is a hit LitRPG published by Aethon Books (see “Aethon Books“), which has also spawned a series of graphic novels by Vault Comics (see “Graphic Novels“). The series revolves around an Australian office-supply worker Jason Asano who ends up naked and alone on the world of Pallimustus. There, he encounters monsters from astral space and finds ways of building up his powers to deal with them.
Catalyst is in the process of creating both board games and RPGs for this IP. Jason Hardy, RPG Director for Catalyst, mentioned that they were working on a press-your-luck dice game as well as making progress on making a roleplaying game, which is already in the middle of an alpha playtest cycle.
