Asmodee will release Reiner Knizia’s Gold Country, a new strategy game by Allplay, into retail on October 16, 2026.
In this game, players will enter the California Gold Rush era as heads of mining companies. They will build up their mining companies, buy and sell shares of the mines on the map, and invest their capital in ability cards to gain an edge against the competition. The game features two different maps for players to explore for gold as well as randomized setups to increase the game’s replayability. The goal of the game is to be the players with the most gold by the time all the gold veins have been discovered.
The game is for two to four players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. It will retail for $45.00.
Allplay is also launching three new game lines, starting with a refresh of Dominant Species (see “Three New Lines“).
