Free League Publishing launched a BackerKit campaign for The One Ring RPG and LotR RPG 5E on September 22, 2026.
The campaign offers players six books for the two RPGs. These books are as follows:
The White Tower and The Hall of Gold and Realms of the South. These books detail locations, campaign frameworks, and adventure hooks for Minas Tirith and the fiefs of Gondor. Realms of the South is the 5E adapted rulebook of The White Tower and The Hall of Gold.
Creatures Strange and Foul and Of Orcs and Evil Things. These two books are bestiaries. They include information on Ents, Woses, Oliphants, Balrogs, Dragons, and the Nameless Things. Of Orcs and Evil Things is the 5E adapted version of Creatures Strange and Foul.
LotR RPG 5E and The One Ring Core Rules (Updated Editions): The BackerKit will offer up updated versions of the core rules. Both of these rulesets include Strider Mode for solo adventuring.
Free League Publishing has also placed Alderland, a new campaign setting book for Forbidden Lands RPG, onto preorder (see “‘Forbidden Lands’“).
