We found signs of the times in the TCG business at San Diego Comic-Con, with grading, a new platform, a market-price vending machine, and airport store sales all displaying the heat in the category in Summer 2026.
Two booths on the exhibit floor were signs of the time: a large booth for PSA grading services, which we don’t remember seeing in years past, and a large booth for Rip/mart, a soon-to-be-launched liveselling platform on which buyers of cards from pack-ripping will be able to immediately list them for sale on the platform.
Nearby at the Marriott, there was a vending machine selling sealed TCG and trading card products at market prices, including, on the screen in the photo, Pokémon TCG packs for up to $39.95.
And the signs of the times were also at the airport, where the Hudson store was selling new Pokémon TCG packs at $14.99, over three times the MSRP.
