Uncover an extra-dimensional conspiracy in this urban horror TTRPG

Urban fantasy tabletop RPGs have some of the most sauce in the medium. There’s a much thinner layer of reality between urban fantasy and our world, so close if not for the fact the odd vampire or werewolf is running around.  Much of the delight and horror of this world come from the simple idea that you could see yourself in these situations. The mortal forced to contend with the supernatural will always appeal to me, and that’s exactly what this upcoming RPG promises.

Dark Conspiracy is an urban horror RPG where different dimensions threaten the very fabric of our world. Each dimension holds threats that wouldn’t be out of place among the Warhammer 40k factions. From hog-men on monstrous bikes to mimics preying subtly from your own home, there’s no shortage of supernatural threats to deal with in Dark Conspiracy.

You play as Operatives, people with something special that attracts the attention of someone. That “someone” could be a high-ranking government official or eccentric millionaire. Regardless of who “someone” is, they all understand that something bad is happening, and they need someone special for the job. Instead of DnD classes, Operatives can pick from seven career paths.

Are you a no-nonsense Agent, dealing with threats “by the book” and backed by corporate resources? Or are you an Empath, manifesting powers linked to the very dark forces in order to combat them? The system runs on the Traveller ruleset, meaning these careers will prove very flexible and organic to experience.

As a fan of games such as Hunter: The Reckoning and Delta Green, the vibes of Dark Conspiracy are perfect for me. Fighting against threats older than humanity itself and barely making out of each encounter alive will never not be the coolest. It makes every adventure feel earned, and I’m excited for how this game develops.
