Wizards of the Coast revealed A Marvelous Mathoms Superdrop, for Magic: The Gathering – The Hobbit, which will be up for preorder on August 17, 2026.
The latest Superdrop is a celebration of all things The Hobbit (see “‘Magic: The Gathering – The Hobbit’“). It features four DTC sets, all of which have very stylized card treatments. The most interesting, by far, of the sets is the all Food token set. The following drop sets will be available via this Superdrop:
- Secret Lair X The Hobbit: Second Breakfast and Beyond (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): This set comes with seven Food tokens, representing the different Hobbit meal times.
- Secret Lair X The Hobbit: Over the Edge of the Wild (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The second The Hobbit drop set features claymation-style artwork. It contains a Cloudshift; a Tocasia’s Welcome as “Quite a Merry Gathering”; a Stony Silence; an Imp’s Mischief and a Seize the Spoils.
- Secret Lair X The Hobbit: Smaug’s Spoils (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): Smaug’s Spoils showcases staple Commander artifacts as they would be in Smaug’s treasure horde. The artifacts included are a Fellwar Stone as “Erebor Heirloom”; a Lightning Greaves; a Liquimetal Torque; a Sol Ring and a Thought Vessel.
- Secret Lair X The Hobbit: Desolation (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): This black and white ink art offering contains a Defile; a Diabolic Intent; a Dread Return; a Mirkwood Bats and a Read the Bones.
