It was a busy week at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Lots of Hollywood news hit the wire, and it is time for a round-up!
Marvel Studios announced a new Ghost Rider movie at their Hall H SDCC 2026 panel. The new movie will star Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider; Shawn Levy was tapped to direct the new movie, which will hit theaters in 2028 (see “Best in Shows — 2028“).
There is a Black Panther 3 movie in the works at Marvel Studios. The new movie will be directed by Ryan Coogler (see “‘Wakanda Forever’“), and star David Jonsson as the new Black Panther (T’Challa’s son). It will release into theaters on December 15, 2028.
Marvel Studios released a new trailer and posters for Avengers: Doomsday (see below). The new trailer features an array of X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avengers characters; this movie hits theaters on December 18, 2026 (see “Best in Shows — 2026“).
DC Studios unveiled an official trailer for Lanterns (see below). The series, starring Laura Linney, Aaron Pierre, Kyle Chandler, Kelly Macdonald, and Jason Ritter, begins streaming on August 16, 2026 on HBO Max (see “‘Lanterns’“).
DC Studios also released a trailer for Clayface (see below). It stars Tom Rhys Harris as the dramatic, cult favorite Batman villain, and is slated to head to theaters on October 23, 2026 (see “‘Clayface’“).
Marvel Studios also released a final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day (see below). This movie, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal, hits theaters on July 31, 2026 (see “‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’“).
