Baldur’s Gate 3’s mod community is the gift that keeps on giving, and Larian’s support team keeps passing it to consoles.

One of the best things about Baldur’s Gate 3 is the sheer creativity and depth of its modding community. Not only do you get an epic game, but you also have thousands of ways to change it to suit your preference. Whether that’s giving Withers big naturals, as was presumably always intended, or adding in whole new classes and subclasses, there are many different ways to change the game. Most of them are clothing.

This week, Larian’s support team opened up the gates for even more for those playing BG3 on Console (hello, that’s me). And of course, those on PC have even more options to pick from. Sometimes, perhaps, too many options.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Adds New Console Mods, True 3rd-Person Camera Mod For PC

The latest console drop has nearly 15 different mods to its name. This includes the Rage Mage Barbarian, a spellcasting subclass for everyone’s favorite beefy brawlers, a fire themed Sorcerer subclass, and even a whole new “Shadow Reaper” class complete with subclass support and more.

Or if that’s not satisfying, you can add Aylin and Isobel as permanent party members with unique interactions in Act 3, give yourself some new hairstyle options (including and especially cybergoth styles), and raise the level cap of the game to 40. Just in case you weren’t winning enough beforehand.

It’s incredible that the support team is still going through mods and making them available for console players. It’s a sign of how dedicated Larian is to its community, and of what makes a game stay vibrant and relevant even years after its release has long past. Just ask Skyrim. Especially the raising of the level cap, I think this extends BG3’s life on console for years.

Of course, every now and then, there’s a mod that comes through that makes the community question everything. And apparently that is a new 3rd-person camera mod that has people questioning if some mods were meant to be seen.

The answer is always yes.

The mod in question is “True Third Person Camera” over on Nexus Mods, which puts you in glorious, full on third-person mode, ala some of your favorite open-world games. It has been surprisingly polarizing, but honestly, absolutely worth installing just to go on the ride.

At any rate, Baldur’s Gate 3 is alive and thriving thanks in part to you, the players. So get out there and download some mods, start a new playthrough, and just remember, Gortash Fieri is real, and he can hurt you.

See you down, down, down by the river!
