Pathfinder’s August Adventure Path brings out the bleakness of summer turning to fall, as you’ll see soon enough in Bastion of Blasphemies.

Pathfinder takes things in a darker direction with the upcoming August Adventure Path. Taking cues from Castlevania (and specifically the anime) and Dark Souls, Bastion of Blasphemy is a higher-level (5-13) adventure path set in the dread realm of Ustalav. This adventure, from Pathfinder co-creator James Jacobs, features curses, undead, demons, and worse.

Bastion of Blasphemies – Coming July 30th

Listen there’s just something in the air, in the RPG space right now. And you know, probably in our own zeitgeist in general, but there’s a lot of “darker” adventures and campaigns and expansions out there. Bastion of Blasphemies is no exception. But I think there’s a reason for that, maybe we all need to acknowledge or even embrace our darker sides as we move into a new era.

Or maybe people are just really into Dark Fantasy right now. Two things can be true. Either way, Bastion of Blasphemies features the infamous Bastardhall. Or Bastidhall for you Sean Bean/Richard Sharpe appreciators out there. Set in Ustalav, Golarion’s gloomy, gothy region, people have been disappearing following sightings of the Bastardhall’s Black Coach.

“Florin Kindler lost her parents to one of Ustalav’s most notorious hauntings—they perished, as so many have, after a visit from the Black Coach of Bastardhall. Arguably the most notorious of all the haunted castles of the Inner Sea region, Bastardhall’s mysteries have brought Florin and her adventuring companions in search of answers to the centuries-long curse that blights the ruins, but the castle has other plans than simply giving up what it hides, as those who dare to enter its haunted halls are doomed to vanish forever. Will your PCs be able to break the curse of Bastardhall and escape, or are they fated to become the latest in a long line of vanishings into one of Golarion’s most infamous ruins?”

And since this adventure picks up at level 5, it’s not a bad place to go after running some of the starter campaigns like Troubles in Grayce or the like. You can play as more seasoned heroes and then get in just a little bit over your heads.

This is yet another adventure path that follows the new Pathfinder 2E design. You get the whole campaign in one book, instead of spread out over a few volumes. It comes in either regular or deluxe with a faux leather cover, metallic deboss elements, and a bound-in ribbon bookmark.

All of this comes out at the end of July (and coincidentally the first day of Gen Con) but you can pre-order now at the link below!
