Chaosium will release Call of Cthulhu: Horror on the Orient Express – The Board Game, a new cooperative game, into retail on September 30, 2026.
This game was first announced back in 2023 (see “‘Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game’“). It is a cooperative crisis management board game for that was designed by Adam Kwapinski (see “Review: ‘Frostpunk: The Board Game’“) and Michal Golab Golebiowski (see “‘Destinies’“). In the game, players assume the roles of 1920s investigators who have boarded the iconic Orient Express. The train ride takes a bit of a catastrophic turn, sending players on a doomed journey through the Dreamlands.
They have to deal with monster attacks, a blood-thirsty vampire, and vicious cultists posing as passengers. Players will need to conserve their limited resources all while protecting the train passengers. To win the game, they need to prevent the cultists from completing their dark ritual by identifying them. This game is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 90-120 minutes. It will retail for $135.00.
