A slew of introductory box sets are here to help new players join the grim darkness of the far future.

Armageddon is already here, but that’s not the end of the 11th edition launch products. Today, a variety of new box sets are up for pre-order. Everything from a true two-player starter to smaller intro sets, including paints and brushes, is here to help new players join the hobby no matter their budget.

The perfect product for anyone who wants to take a headfirst dive into 40k, this new starter set is a comprehensive starting point. It includes two full Combat Patrols, one for Space Marines, the other for Orks, a pair of battlefield boards, and enough terrain to play. It also includes a Core Rulebook, a new Starter Set Handbook, reference sheets, dice, and transparent rulers. Split it with a friend who’s also getting into 40k or keep it all to yourself as a complete game-in-a-box.

For those who want a taste of 40k without a bigger expenditure, the Introductory Set is a great starting point. It includes a Space Marine Lieutenant and a unit of 5 Intercessors ready to face off against an Ork Nob and his squad of five Boyz. This is the first time these models will be available so this might be an intriguing purchase for existing players as well. The miniatures are accompanied by a playmat, card terrain, a ruler, six dice, six paints, and a starter brush. A 48-page handbook offers a top level view of the whole miniatures hobby and 40k gaming concepts.

Get the Space Marines Intercessors Here

This new series of paint sets are aimed squarely at those just dipping their toes in the grim darkness of the far future. Each contains a handful of miniatures and a curated set of paints for that army.

The Space Marines: Intercessors + Paints set includes a pair of Intercessors with paints aimed at emulating the iconic Ultramarines paint scheme. The Orks: Boyz + Paintst box instead includes two Boyz and a single gretchin with paints that provide the basics of a Goff clan paint scheme.

Each contains a full Combat Patrol of push-fit plastic miniatures and a curated set of 11 paints, one of which is a texture paint for basing.
