Night City is on the rise once more in the new official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game. Turns out, it’s rising faster than anyone expected.
The people yearn for a cyberpunk dystopia that’s actually cool and interesting instead of the dumb one we’re currently living in. And who can blame them? Wouldn’t you rather have a cool cyberarm and the ability to completely immerse yourself in a machine than, say, have most of your interactions online confined to like three websites that get worse and worse each year? I thought so.
Little wonder, then, that there’s so much hype for the new Cyberpunk trading card game. Brought to you by WeirdCo, a new company whose first project has done so well that it’s breaking records. At press time, the Cyberpunk TCG has shot past the $8 million mark, and that’s with 30 days still to go.
The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game Is Gonna Be Preem, Chooms
Cyberpunk, originally created by Mike Pondsmith and R. Talsorian Games, is an RPG legend. You may know it from the original game, or from Cyberpunk 2020, or more recently, Cyberpunk RED. If you don’t know the RPG, you probably know the video game, Cyberpunk 2077, and you almost assuredly know Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
Now, the world of Night City is back, in trading card form. That’s second only to being back in POG form. And it looks like WeirdCo (with the help of CD Projekt RED) has put a lot of work into the project.
And it shows. You can see it in the incredible art. In the design of the cards. In the many stretch goals, and sets and things that are already planned. The Kickstarter is dripping with Cyberpunk goodness.

The Kickstarter is truly monstrous. And by now, companies are hopefully used to the “suffering from too much success” effect that can lead to delays and other problems when it comes time to fulfillment. Because this is already the most funded TCG Kickstarter of all time.
