It might be a mouthful of a title, but the VR dungeon crawler crossover of Demeo and D&D gets a big new update full of Warlocks.

I mean, I guess technically you can play Demeo not on VR, but the game is, in my opinion, best experienced in as immersive a setting as you can get. Demeo was born out of a desire to capture that tabletop feel but in VR. It’s a dungeon crawler where you play as someone moving their miniature around a tabletop. And in Demeo X Dungeon & Dragons: Battlemarked, you have the added benefit of getting to use the D&D classes and other terminology.

Case in point: today’s big update, the Warlock Update for DxD&D Battlemarked, which adds a whole new class, a brand new One Shot campaign, and more. Let’s check it out.

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked – The Warlock Update

As the name suggests, the Warlock Update adds Warlocks to Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked. Specifically you get the new hero, Azruss Drevontir, an infernal pact Warlock who has all sorts of unique powers.

In Demeo and also DxD&DBM each class gets its own deck of cards that you sort of assemble in a Roguelike-like fashion as you explore the dungeon, uncover treasures, buy new cards in shops, etc. The Warlock is the same, with a deck full of “pact-bound spells, battlefield manipulation, and volatile power.”

Sounds like you’ll want to break out the teamwork when playing with a Warlock. But you need that if you’re really getting into any brand of Demeo anyway. And it’s not just the new Warlock, there’s also a new “side-quest”, Auril’s Cradle:

“From the depths of winter’s cruelty and adding to the adventure, this update also introduces ‘Auril’s Cradle’ as a new One Shot experience. Now available as a standalone One Shot for players who have unlocked Ythryn in the second campaign, this adventure offers a punishing test of tactical mastery. Designed to stand among the more formidable trials in Battlemarked, ‘Auril’s Cradle’ launches without selectable difficulty modes – though additional difficulty modes will arrive in a future update.”

The update also adds more language support. Now Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Chinese are available. But the update also taketh away: hirelings have been fully removed from the game. This is part of Phase 2 of the hero system redesign.

Now the only heroes you can rely on are the ones created by players themselves. So. Get some friends, if you wanna go far.
