The crowdfunding campaign for the third edition of Numenera has been going astoundingly well. It’s raised almost $700k over its BackerKit campaign, and shows no signs of slowing even as we head into the last few hours for the campaign. Numenera 3rd Edition – Final Hours On BackerKit
I think the standout thing about the campaign is that now Numenera is completely subsumed in the Cypher System. In fact, the 3rd Edition book is as much a campaign setting for the Cypher System RPG as anything else. Not that you won’t get a ton out of it.
Numenera: The Amber Archive will require you to have the core Cypher RPG book in order to play – and sure, that’s weird considering that Numenera kicked off the Cypher System in the first place. But the Amber Archive still adds a ton to the core rules, including new character archetypes, new monsters, new cyphers, and more.
