IDW Media Holdings returned to profitability on sales growth in its fiscal Q1 ended January 31, the company reported. Sales grew to $5.7 million, up 13% from $5.0 million in sales in the year ago quarter. Sales grew in both comic stores, which IDW attributed to its IDW Dark titles, and the book channel, which were attributed to backlist sales.
The sales trend is a big turnaround from the 12.5% decline in the fiscal year ended October 31, 2025 (see “IDW Sales Down”).
IDW reported a net profit of $141,000 in the quarter, a big improvement from a $1.2 million loss in the same quarter a year ago. All of the profits were from publishing, partially offset by an $87,000 loss from the entertainment division.
