Office Dog Games will release Gunsen: The Battle For Toshi Ranbo, a new Legend of the Five Rings board game, into retail on August 28, 2026.
This game was originally announced at Gen Con 2026 as Tessen: The Battle for Toshi Ranbo (see “‘L5R’ Board Game“). In this game, designed by Ben Rosset and Matthew O’Malley, players will take charge of either the Crab, Crane, Dragon, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, or Unicorn clan battle it out for control over Rokugan. It is an area control game that is supplemented by tableau-building mechanics; players will build up a clean tableau to create powerful in-game synergies and use them to outmaneuver rivals. The first player to achieve seven victory objectives wins the game.
The game supports two to six players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. It will retail for $69.99.
