We’ve got a fancy looking door from Games Workshop on today’s Rumor Engine. But where’s the handle?
It’s another Tuesday, and that means it’s time for a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This one is a strange one. We’ve got a door. But where does it lead? And is that a keyhole or something else? Take a look, and we’ll go from there.
Is there anything behind this finely decorated door? We have no idea, because it’s the door itself that’s the subject of this week’s Rumour Engine. Is it terrain? Is it a new kind of door-shaped daemon? Where is the handle? Questions galore, we tell you.
Rumor Engine – Fancy Doorway
I have to agree with WarCom in that assessment. Questions galore, indeed! Where IS the handle? Anyhow, just based on the look and the materials, I’m guessing this one is from the Age of Sigmar range of miniatures. I really don’t think this one fits in with the aesthetics of the Grimdark. At least not from this angle! Anyhow, I do know of at least one faction in AoS that would use wood, stone, and iron in their construction efforts. The Cities of Sigmar.
They use a lot of wood for their shields, and in fact, that’s what the wood slats really remind me of. Also, the studs in the door are interesting, as well as the metalworking. It really does remind me of the Cities of Sigmar. Which seems appropriate due to this being a door.
The Cities of Sigmar are also big fans of stone work, too. They use it a lot in their buildings and terrain. This could be a nice nod to all that. However, I also want to point out that this could be a teaser for The Old World, too. I feel like there’s a lot of Old World terrain that GW could bring back, and it could be used for either The Old World or AoS, too.
The Empire also used stone, wood, and iron in their construction after all. It’s almost like those two armies are related or something.
In any case, I’m stuck on the Cities of Sigmar track now. If you’ve got another idea I’d love to read it in the comments. So drop us a line and let the rest of us in on what you think this one could be!
It’s a doorway to a wizard’s tower…which is why the handle is missing!
