Dynamite Entertainment will make both its backlist and new releases available on the startup digital comics platform Neon Ichiban, which is currently in beta and will launch a public beta soon.
This adds Dynamite’s library of creator-owned titles, notably The Boys, and licensed series including ThunderCats, Red Sonja, and Army of Darkness, to the new digital comics platform. Neon Ichiban is the creation of DSTLRY co-founders David Steinberger and Chip Mosher, who were also the co-founder and head of content and marketing, respectively, of ComiXology (see “DSTLRY Founders Announce New Comics Service, Neon Ichiban”).
“Dynamite has always been committed to world building and delivering unforgettable stories, from redefining icons like Vampirella, ThunderCats and Red Sonja to breakout hits like The Boys and many other iconic characters,” said Nick Barrucci, CEO & Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Partnering with Neon Ichiban lets us expand that legacy and bring our comics to fans worldwide on the most innovative digital platform.”
“Dynamite has spent 20 years blending timeless characters with bold creator-owned titles,” added Mosher.
Other publishers on the platform include Dark Horse, DC, DSTLRY, Kodansha, Marvel, Oni Press, and Vault Comics.
