New Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals expansion now available at participating retailers around the world featuring over 240 cards, over 85 Trainer’s Pokémon including over 45 Team Rocket’s Pokémon, more than 15 Pokémon ex and more

The Pokémon Company is continuing to reveal new Pokémon TCG products and content. Read on below to learn more:

May 30, 2025 — Today, The Pokémon Company International released the next expansion for the bestselling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals. The expansion is available beginning today at participating retailers around the world.
 
In Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals, players can find Trainer’s Pokémon cards, a mechanic showcasing the special bond shared between skilled Trainers and their Pokémon. First featured in the Pokémon TCG: Gym Heroes expansion and reintroduced earlier this year in Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together, the new Trainer’s Pokémon cards in Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals include the nefarious Team Rocket, led by Giovanni and Mewtwo ex, and heroic duos like Ethan and Ho-Oh ex or Cynthia and Garchomp ex.
 
Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals is now available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and various collections at participating retailers worldwide.
 
In celebration of Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals, players will have the opportunity to receive a gift with any Pokémon TCG purchase of $15 or more. Trainers can receive a promo card featuring Team Rocket’s Zapdos from GameStop or a promo card featuring Team Rocket’s Articuno from Best Buy. The promo cards will be available starting today, while supplies last.[1]
 
In addition, Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals is now digitally playable via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices. To celebrate the launch of the expansion on the app, fans can earn Team Rocket themed deck cosmetics consisting of coins, deck boxes and card sleeves. These digital rewards can be obtained by reaching Poké League (for coins), Great League (for deck boxes) and Ultra League (for sleeves) while playing Ranked matches during the following time periods:
 

  • Ekans Rocket deck cosmetics: obtainable between May 29 at 10 a.m. PDT and June 26 at 10 a.m. PDT
  • Koffing Rocket deck cosmetics: obtainable between June 26 at 10 a.m. PDT and July 17 at 10 a.m. PDT

Team Rocket deck cosmetics are also available by progressing the Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals Battle Pass between May 29 at 10 a.m. PDT and July 17 at 10 a.m. PDT.

Furthermore, to celebrate the second anniversary of Pokémon TCG Live launching globally, players will receive digital rewards when logging into the app from Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. PDT, to Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. PDT. Digital rewards include special illustration rare Team Rocket Trainer’s Pokémon cards, new deck and cosmetic accessories and more.
