Yen Press announced a number of new licenses at MCM Comic Con in London, including a boxed set of the shoujo manga Fruits Basket, a yuri series, and a spinoff of A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School.
The Fruits Basket boxed set will include the 12-volume series, with new covers, plus a set of lenticular cards, and will be released on November 11, 2025, with an MSRP of $240.00.
Fruits Basket, rated for readers 13 and up, was originally published as 23 volumes by Tokyopop and was a best-seller in the mid-2000s (see “Shoujo Manga Series Score in Q1”). Yen Press picked up the license in 2015 and published the series as 12 omnibus volumes (see “‘Fruits Basket’ Returns”).
Yen also announced it has acquired the license for Love Bullet, by inee, a yuri (girls love) manga set in a world where people who die without ever finding their true love are reincarnated as Cupids who help humans find romance and solve their relationship problems. The Cupids have wings, just like the original, but have upgraded from bows and arrows to guns. The action-filled story follows a 15-year-old girl who works with other Cupids to match people up and hopefully earn enough karma points to allow them to be reincarnated. The series is rated 16+, and the first volume will be published on November 25, 2025, with an MSRP of $13.00.
Mai Tanaka’s The Terrifying Students at Ghoul School! is set in the same school as the earlier series A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School and tells the origin stories of the yokai who do the terrifying. The latter series was adapted into an anime that premiered in 2024. The first volume of The Terrifying Students at Ghoul School!, which is rated 13+, will be released on November 25, 2025, with an MSRP of $13.00.
