Deadpool and Batman to Meet in Upcoming One-Shots from Marvel and DC

Marvel Comics and DC Comics will publish two crossover one-shots featuring Batman and Deadpool, one in September and one in November, marking the first time the two publishers have collaborated on such a project since the 2003 JLA/Avengers miniseries (see “Hero Initiative to Publish Limited Edition of ‘JLA/Avengers’”).

The two-issue crossover will kick off with Deadpool/Batman #1, by writer Zeb Wells and artist Greg Capullo, which will be published by Marvel.  The story follows Wade Wells as he takes on an assignment in Gotham City and crosses paths with Batman. The comic will be released on September 17, 2025, with a main cover by Capullo.

“In Batman we’ve found someone who has even less time for Deadpool’s antics than Wolverine, but a city-wide threat from the Joker makes strange bedfellows (literally, if Deadpool had his way),” Wells said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

Batman/Deadpool #1, by writer Grant Morrison and artist Dan Mora, will be published by DC in November 2025 with a main cover by Mora.

“Expect 4th wall busting mayhem, owls, blood, blades, and at least one giant typewriter!” Morrison said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

In addition to the main stories, both issues will feature backup stories that match up characters from the two publishers.
