Czech Games Editions has announced expansions for SETI and Galaxy Trucker, and new game Wispwood as its Gen Con and Speil 2025 releases.
SETI: Space Agencies is an expansion for SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, which was released in 2024 (see “CGE Unveils ‘SETI’“). The expansion introduces powerful asymmetric organizations, from tech companies to global research networks, that have unique abilities, strategic advantages, and starting conditions. It also introduces three alien species, 40 new project cards that integrate into the main deck, Quick Start cards that can be used with the organizations, and Signal Tokens, a new mechanic that enhances scanning efficiency.
Box contents include 11 asymmetric organizations, 18 quick start cards, 40 new project cards, 3 new alien species (coming with over 40 alien cards and other special components), 3 alien rule sheets, 4 rival action cards (one for each new alien species and a new starting card), signal tokens, and rulebook.
SETI: Space Agencies is designed by Tomas Holek. It will be released at Spiel 2025.
Galaxy Trucker: Do What!?, designed by Vlaada Chvátil & Dávid Jablonovský, includes two modules expanding the base game: Missions, which challenges players with hazardous cargo, nasty Supercards, or insane objectives; and VIP Astronauts, who offer cash to comply with their whims. It also adds a Turn-Based Mode.
Components include 20 astronauts in 4 colors, 70 new ship tiles, 1 new title, 23 credit tokens (100c, 50c, 10c), 60 cards (18 VIPs, 16 missions, 24 supercards, 2 reference cards), game rulebook + mission rulebook. IT will be released at Gen Con 2025.
The previous expansion, Galaxy Trucker : Keep on Trucking, was released in 2022 (see “’Keep on Trucking’“).
Wispwood, designed by Reed Ambrose, puts players in a forest, where wisps from old tales each carry a unique personality as they try to guide them in ways that make their forest the brightest. Players choose a wisp tile and a shape to place in their personal grid, representing their growing forest, on each turn. Each wisp and even the magical trees have preferences, which need to be met across three scoring rounds. The forest fades and expands between rounds, with the wisps remaining in place. New goal cards redefine the wisps’ whims with each game.
The box contains a randomizable central display, double-sided wisp/tree tiles, cat tiles with unique illustrations (1 per player), starting player token, scoring pad, and rulebook.
Wispwood is for 1-4 players ages 10 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes. It will be released at Spiel 2025.
