Alien Books has licensed the comic rights to the Zorro property from Zorro Productions, Inc., the companies announced, with the first project a collection of Zorro comics by the great Alex Toth to be launched on Kickstarter. The deluxe hardcover will include a Toth’s Zorro series from 1958 with remastered colors and lettering, plus a story by Howard Chaykin and Eduardo Risso that has not previously been released in English.
A broad publishing program is planned, with releases for comic stores and the book trade to be announced.
Zorro has had a wide variety of comic publishers over the years, including Massive Publishing, which is releasing a collection of the Sean Gordon Murphy series Zorro: Man of the Dead (see “Updated Take on Zorro”) later this month.
