Play a Critical Role in Julius Caesar’s Fate

Play to Z will release 23 Knives, a new board game, into retail on April 16, 2025.

In this game, designed by Tyler Brown, it’s 44 BCE and the Roman Republic is at a turning point as Julius Caesar has assumed full control of the would-be empire. The Ides of March are approaching and players are tasked with deciding the fate of Rome. They will assume the roles of Roman citizens who are either Caesar loyalists, liberators of Rome, or simply opportunists looking to take advantage of the situation.  Representing one of these factions, players will go throughout Rome and try to sway other citizens to their cause and collect Knives.

If the liberators get 23 Knives, Caesar will die and the liberator with the most Knives wins. If not, the loyalist who is most dedicated to saving Caesar wins. The opportunists can win as a team by shifting their allegiances to the winning side at the last second. This game is for three to eight players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 30 to 60 minutes. It will retail for $40.

Play to Z also recently released Ascending Empires into retail (see “‘Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition’“).
