Stonemaier Sales Up in 2024

Sales at Stonemaier Games grew substantially in 2024 according to the company’s report to stakeholders, and were only slightly below their record year of 2021.  Stonemaier sales were $23.7 million in 2024, up 42% from $16.7 million in 2023, a second down year after a big year in 2021, when sales were $24.7 million (see “Stonemaier Sales Drop for Second Year in 2023“).

The biggest driver was the release of Wyrmspan (see “Preview: ‘Wyrmspan’ Unboxed“), with mechanics inspired by Stonemaier’s hit Elizabeth Hargrave game Wingspan.  By the end of 2024, Stonemaier had 303,396 copies of Wyrmspan in circulation, according to the report, passing Wingspan & Wingspan Asia, which collectively had 277,940 copies in circulation in 2024.

There was a big drop between those top two games and the next largest: new game Stamp Swap, which had 34,000 units in circulation in 2024, and backlist title Viticulture, which had 23,000 copies in circulation.

Stonemaier has an active release schedule planned for 2025, including Finspan (see “Stonemaier Gets Fishy“), Between Two Castles Essential Edition, Tokaido (see “Stonemaier Acquires ‘Tokaido’“), a Wyrmspan expansion, Tokaido Duo, and wooden hibernation tokens for Apiary.
