Ares Games announced Quartermaster General: South Front, a new WWII board game, which will hit retail in June 2025.
This is the second release in the Quartermaster General “Front” series of games, following Quartermaster General: East Front (see “‘East Front’“). This time, designer Ian Brody (see “Game Designer Ian Brody“) tackles the struggle for control over Southern Europe, North Africa, and the Mediterranean between summer of 1940 and spring of 1944. The game mechanics of this game are similar to other Quartermaster General games, where players take control of a commander deck for a faction and try to score as many victory points as they can by controlling the board. The victor is determined after 16 rounds of play or if a player can amass a 10-point lead.
This game is for two players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 90-120 minutes.
