Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO on a regular basis. Read on below to learn more:
Double the trouble and double the fun with two featured Pokémon on Community Day
Pokémon GO’s February 2025 Community Day is a double feature shell-ebrating Karrablast and Shelmet. On February 9, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Karrablast and Shelmet will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Some Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Karrablast or Shiny Shelmet—if they’re lucky! Evolve Karrablast or Shelmet during the event or up to five hours afterward to get an Escavalier or an Accelgor that know the Charged Attacks Razor Shell and Energy Ball, respectively.
There will be other amazing event bonuses as well, including the following.
- 3× Catch XP for catching Pokémon
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- 2× chance for Trainers Level 31 and above to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time)
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time)
Come out of your shell for research opportunities, including Community Day Special Research, Karrablast and Shelmet Community Day Special Background Timed Research, and Field Research. Pokémon GO’s February 2025 Community Day Field Research is focused on catching Karrablast and Shelmet to earn rewards that include Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with the featured Pokémon, and more. Tickets for Community Day Special Research cost US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing in your local currency). Rewards for completing research tasks include two encounters each with Karrablast and Shelmet with a Dual Destiny–themed Special Background, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL.
For Trainers that won’t be ready for the party to end, Community Day Special Background Timed Research will be available and will last for one week following the event. All you need to do to access it is log in to Pokémon GO during the February Community Day event. From there, complete the Timed Research by February 16, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time to earn rewards including an encounter each with Karrablast and Shelmet with a Dual Destiny–themed Special Background.

Featured Attack
Evolve Karrablast from the beginning of the event until February 16, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time to get an Escavalier that knows the Charged Attack Razor Shell.
Razor Shell
- Trainer Battles: 35 power
- Gyms and raids: 55 power
Evolve Shelmet from the beginning of the event until February 16, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time to get an Accelgor that knows the Charged Attack Energy Ball.
Energy Ball
- Trainer Battles: 90 power
- Gyms and raids: 90 power
Community Day Special Research
For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Karrablast and Shelmet Community Day–exclusive Special Research. Complete this research for even more rewards including two encounters each with Karrablast and Shelmet with Dual Destiny–themed Special Backgrounds, additional encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL.

- Don’t forget: you’re now able to purchase and gift tickets to any of your friends that you’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.
- To gift a ticket, tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tap the Gift button instead of the Buy button.
Tickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Please note that this Special Research will not include an in-game medal and will not feature a story.

Community Day Special Background Timed Research
Keep Community Day going with a new Timed Research that will last for a week following the event!
Trainers that log in during February Community Day will receive Timed Research awarding one encounter each with Karrablast and Shelmet that have a Dual Destiny–themed Special Background. You’ll even have an increased chance to encounter Shiny Karrablast and Shiny Shelmet when you complete these Timed Research tasks!
Don’t forget, Trainers, you can evolve Karrablast or Shelmet during the week following the event to get an Escavalier or an Accelgor that know the Charged Attacks Razor Shell or Energy Ball respectively!
Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 10:00 p.m. local time.

February Community Day–themed Field Research will be available! Catch Karrablast and Shelmet to earn rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with both featured Pokémon, and more!
GO out and explore with your community, and you may even find Field Research that yields more encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet that have Dual Destiny–themed Special Backgrounds—if you’re lucky!

Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Karrablast and Shelmet Community Day!
Pokémon GO Web Store – Ultra Community Day Box
An Ultra Community Day Box featuring 10 Ultra Balls, one Elite Charged TM, and one Special Research ticket will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store during the event for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). This web store deal will be available starting February 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PST, three days before the ticket is available in the in-game shop!
Event Bundles
Two Community Day bundles will be available during this event.
For 1,350 PokéCoins, you will get 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs.
For 480 PokéCoins, you will get 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module.

Stickers
You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
