Marvel Unveils X-Men Crossover

Marvel has unveiled X-Manhunt, a new X-Men crossover that brings together the current ongoing X-Men titles for the first time in this era, for release in March.  The storyline will run through a total of eight books, including issues of seven X-Men titles and a finale in X-Manhunt Omega, a double-sized one-shot.

The story follows Professor X, who frees himself from the mutant detention center where he’s been detained as a telepathic virus affects his mind, and those around him.  As he undertakes his personal mission, some X-Men are ready to help, while others will not due to his tarnished legacy.

The books in the crossover, in order, are:

Uncanny X-Men #11 – “X-Manhunt” Part One, written by Gail Simone with art by Javier Garron and cover by David Marquez, on sale March 5. Rogue and her X-Men must ally with their worst enemy to betray their most trusted friend.

NYX #9 – “X-Manhunt” Part Two, written by Collin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing, with art by Francesco Mortarino and cover by Sara Pichelli, on sale March 5. Charles Xavier’s first stop is New York, where NYX may be bolstered or torn apart as a result.

Storm #6 – “X-Manhunt” Part Three, written by Murewa Ayodele with art by Lucas Werneck and cover by Mateus Manhanini, on sale March 5. Xavier heads for Storm Sanctuary.  The blue-skinned Zulu titan Maggott makes his From the Ashes debut.

X-Men #13 – “X-Manhunt” Part Four, written by Jed MacKay with art by Netho Diaz and cover by Ryan Stegman, on sale March 12.  The X-Men catch up with Xavier but they aren’t the only ones who’ve found him.

X-Factor #8 – “X-Manhunt” Part Five, written by Mark Russell with art by Bob Quinn and cover by Greg Land, on sale March 12. How will the X-Men react to X-Factor hunting their founder?

X-Force #9 – “X-Manhunt” Part Six, written by Geoffrey Thorne with art by Marcus To and cover by Stephen Segovia, on sale March 19.  How will Sage react to Professor X’s quest?

Exceptional X-Men #7 – “X-Manhunt” Collateral Damage, written by Eve L. Ewing with art and cover by Carmen Carnero, on sale March 19.  Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde are dealing with their own dreams and fears, as Axo drifts from the team and closer to Sheldon Xenos, who is not who he seems to be.

X-Manhunt Omega #1 – “X-Manhunt” Finale, written by Gail Simone & Murewa Ayodele with art and cover by Gleb Melnikov, on sale March 26.  Professor X reaches his destination, and his pursuers catch up.  Xavier will have to make a choice with the fate of all mutantkind in the balance.
