When is Black Friday 2024?
Black Friday is a little later than usual this year, falling on November 29. Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving, and because Thanksgiving itself is late this year, so too is Black Friday. The knock-on effect of this is that Cyber Monday (which also usually sees a few Lego deals) ends up being on December 2.
Where are the best Black Friday Lego deals?
If you want to find the most expensive Lego sets at a cheaper price, then there are a few main websites to check out. First of all, there’s the Lego Store itself. You’ll often find a decent spread of Black Friday deals there, with many of the best Lego sets retiring soon and getting a pretty decent reduction. Considering prices tend to go up after sets are retired, that’s pretty much the ideal time to buy.
Amazon also usually offers a number of Lego sets in its Black Friday deals. These deals can often run throughout all of November, though the very best discounts are typically saved until the main day itself. Best Buy will likely also have some good Lego deals, but they’re not likely to appear until very close to the actual day itself.
Black Friday shopping tips
To have the best Black Friday shopping experience possible, we recommend following these simple shopping tips.
- Stick to respected brands: There is a decent amount of ‘fake’ Lego floating about on the internet, and you can avoid this by sticking to well-known, respected brands during your shopping.
- Set a budget: Brands make loads of money on Black Friday because people end up spending a lot more than they normally would because of the sales. Avoid this trap by setting yourself a strict spending budget.
- Plan your purchases: There will be hundreds of Lego deals going up on the day. Trawling through all of them would be a massive and overwhelming task. If you make a list of the Lego sets that you most want to buy on the day, then you can just head to the main retailers and search for those specific sets on the day.
- Look out for scams: Scammers see a big opportunity during the Black Friday period. One specific to Lego is that dodgy sellers will list a box alone, and try to make it appear as though it’s the whole set. Always read small print carefully, and look closely at email addresses (is the sender who they say they are?) and URLs (is this site what it appears to be?) in order to avoid falling prey to the most common scams.
- Be conscious of time-sensitive deals: Some deals will last just a couple of hours. Others will end as soon as stocks run out. If you see a Black Friday deal you want to buy, do it ASAP, rather than putting it into a basket and coming back later. By then, the sale might have passed.
