Power up your Dynamax Pokémon—it’s time for an epic Gigantamax debut featuring Kanto classics Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise! We’ve seen Mega-Evolved Pokémon, Primal Pokémon, and Dynamax Pokémon, and at long last, Gigantamax Pokémon will appear in six-star Max Battles during Pokémon GO’s GO Bigger event from October 26 at 10:00 a.m. to October 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Six-star Max Battles really raise the stakes, with each battle requiring the united effort of 10 to 40 Trainers to defeat these incredibly powerful Power Spot Bosses. Even with other Trainers at your side, it’s going to be a difficult battle, so be sure to power up your Dynamax Pokémon and level up their Max Moves before the event begins.
Here are a few things to remember about Max Battles and Max Particles.
- Max Particles are required to participate in Max Battles.
- You can use Max Particles to teach your Dynamax Pokémon Max Moves or to power up Max Moves.
- You can collect up to 800 Max Particles per day by exploring a certain distance or collecting them at Power Spots.
- You can’t acquire more Max Particles if you’re currently holding more than 1,000 Max Particles.

Composer Ramin Djawadi Scores Cinematic Trailer, Teasing Pokémon GO’s Highly Anticipated New Feature
BELLEVUE, Wash. — Oct. 14, 2024 — The Pokémon Company International, in collaboration with Niantic, announced the upcoming launch of Gigantamax in Pokémon GO, which will debut on October 26, 2024. This new mechanic expands upon the Dynamax feature introduced on September 10, 2024, allowing select Pokémon to grow and change their appearance during battles.
Players will encounter Gigantamax Pokémon during limited-time events, starting with Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. These Pokémon will be more difficult to battle than other Dynamax Pokémon, requiring teamwork with other Trainers.
The new trailer for Gigantamax features a score by Emmy Award-winning composer Ramin Djawadi, adding an epic soundtrack to match the scale and intensity of the battles. Created by The Pokémon Company International, the trailer delivers a cinematic experience that reflects the grandiose nature of Gigantamax.
“Gigantamax is larger than life and the perfect opportunity to compose this epic theme for the Pokémon GO trailer,” said Djawadi. “We endeavored to create a theme that parallels the hero’s journey.
