Dark Horse has announced Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire, coming February 19, 2025.
The four-issue miniseries, cover-priced at $3.99, is a prequel to Stranger Things season 4, which aired in 2022 (see “‘Stranger Things’ S4 Dates Revealed“). Season 5 is expected on Netflix sometime next year. The comic is also a sequel to Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons, the 2020 miniseries (see “‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Comics Crossover“).
This new minsieries features Eddie Munson and flashbacks to how he recruited the members of the Hellfire Club. It’s written by Jody Houser, who co-wrote the previous comic, and Eric Campbell and illustrated by Diego Galindo, artist of the previous series. Colors are by Diana Sousa and letters by Nate Piekos. Variant cover artists are Magali Villanueve, Rebecca Pueblar, Jeremy Wilson, Nimit Malavia, and Kyle Lambert, designer and illustrator of Stranger Things series key art.
Said Houser, “As soon as I saw Stranger Things season 4, I knew the story of Eddie Munson and the Hellfire Club would be a perfect sequel to our Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons miniseries. Both Eric and I are very familiar with how D&D forges friendships and storytellers, and it’s been wonderful exploring Hawkins through that lens.”
