Image Comics has announced a new horror comic series coming in 2025 from Rick Remender and artist Paul Azaceta. It will be part of Remender’s Giant Generator line, as Azaceta is exclusive with the imprint (see “Giant Generator Signs Exclusives“).
The Seasons is described as “whimsical horror.” It’s the story of sisters Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn. Their famous parents, the Seasons Detectives, disappeared a decade ago, and now they’re in danger. Spring, the youngest, has to fight sinister forces to save the entire family.
Writer Rick Remender (Deadly Class) cites as influences Miyazaki, Windsor McKay, and Tintin. “We wanted to make something that was delightful, poignant, and heartfelt,” he says. “We hope you find the Seasons sisters as charming as we do. And the Ringleader and his imps as devilishly terrifying.”
Artist Paul Azaceta (Outcast by Kirkman and Azaceta) added “The kind of project is what excites me about comics and what drives me to push my art in new directions.”
The ongoing series launches with a double-length premiere issue on January 15, 2025, and six variant covers:
- Cover A by Azaceta
- Cover B 1:15 copy incentive, a Kiki’s Delivery Service homage by Jordi Lafebre
- Cover C 1:25 copy incentive by Kent Williams
