Osprey Games has announced the release of War Story: Occupied France, a new cooperative board game set in World War II-era France. Designed by Dave Neale and David Thompson and illustrated by Kwanchai Moriya, the game aims to combine narrative storytelling with tactical gameplay elements, allowing players to experience both strategic decision-making and an engaging storyline.
In War Story: Occupied France, players take on the roles of covert operatives working behind enemy lines to disrupt the plans of a notorious German officer. The missions are set in occupied France, where players must form alliances with local resistance fighters, gather information, and strike critical blows against the enemy.
Each of the three-story missions offers different choices that can shape the outcome, requiring players to carefully consider their actions as they navigate various tactical situations.
The gameplay involves tactical encounters on maps, combined with a choose-your-own-adventure style narrative. Players’ choices can impact the progression of the storyline, and each mission presents distinct objectives and challenges. The game supports one to six players, making it suitable for both solo and group play.
War Story: Occupied France includes over 80 cards, 90 tokens, three mission books, and a rulebook. The components are designed to reflect the stakes and challenges of World War II espionage and resistance operations, providing a structured experience where decisions matter.
The game is now available on the Osprey website.
