Lone Wolf: Adventures in Magnamund is now live on Kickstarter. This project expands the Dragonbane role-playing game with new professions, heroic abilities, and adventures for Lone Wolf and Dragonbane fans.
Lone Wolf: Adventures in Magnamund brings the classic Magnamund setting back for players. Earlier editions like the d20 Lone Wolf RPG and the Lone Wolf Adventure Game have been unavailable for some time, and this new release aims to revive the experience for current players.
The game includes content that was previously available only at conventions or through limited releases, such as unique adventures, characters, and settings. The campaign includes two main books: the Campaign Setting, which features lore, character classes, and resources for players and game masters, and the Adventure Book, offering seven to eight adventures translated into English for the first time.
Players have the option to choose from 15 character classes, including Ogryn Mercenaries and Noodnic Scavengers, with more classes potentially added as stretch goals are reached. Originally commissioned by Åskfågeln, the content has been translated into English to make these adventures accessible to a wider audience.
The game uses the Dragonbane rules system by Free League Publishing, known for other popular RPGs like The One Ring and Alien. Dragonbane is a d20-based system with mechanics intended to be simple and quick to learn.
To play Lone Wolf: Adventures in Magnamund, players will need the Dragonbane core rules, which are available for purchase or as a free downloadable quick start guide.
The Kickstarter campaign has already reached $83,232 in pledges, surpassing its $19,700 goal, with 645 backers so far. The campaign will run until November 5th.
