Infernape is appearing in black crystal Tera Raid Battles! You can try catching Infernape from Friday, October 4, 2024, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 23:59 UTC, then again from Friday, October 11, 2024, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 23:59 UTC.
The Infernape appearing during this event has Rock as its Tera Type. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it! Work together with your friends to topple this powerful Tera Pokémon!
This special Infernape can be caught only once per save data. If you caught this Infernape previously during a Tera Raid Battle event, you cannot catch it again. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Infernape to obtain other rewards if you’ve already caught it.
This Infernape may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.

7-star Tera Raid Battles: Infernape with the Mightiest Mark
In a Tera Raid Battle, you’ll work together with three other Trainers to defeat a powerful Tera Pokémon before time runs out. The kinds of Pokémon encountered during Tera Raid Battle events will vary. Pokémon encountered in Tera Raid Battles may have a rare Tera Type.

• To participate in Tera Raid Battle events, please download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
• After completing certain postgame events, you’ll be able to find black Tera Raid crystals. However, players who haven’t completed these events may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer.
• A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online. Terms apply. Learn more at https://www.nintendo.com/switch-online.
• Tera Raid Battle events will occur only in the Paldea region.
Encounter Rock–Tera Type Infernape at black Tera Raid crystals, and you’ll also find Blissey in 5‑star Tera Raid Battles.
There will be no time to monkey around when the fiery fighter Infernape arrives in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet 7-star Tera Raid Battles. The Flame Pokémon will appear at black Tera Raid crystals from Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, then again from Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.
Infernape cannot normally be encountered in Paldea—although you can use Blueberry Points to encounter Chimchar in Blueberry Academy’s Terarium—and the Infernape appearing during this event has Rock as its Tera Type. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it! Work together with your friends to topple this powerful Tera Pokémon.
During the latter half of this event—from Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT—Blissey will be appearing more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles. These Blissey will have various Tera Types, so prepare wisely before challenging them. Defeating Blissey will yield some delightful rewards, such as various Tera Shards and bonus Exp. Candies.
Whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon. To find the Tera Pokémon featured in this event, you’ll also need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. To do so, follow these steps:
- Select Poké Portal in the X menu.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Select Check Poké Portal News.
To challenge Rock–Tera Type Infernape with the Mightiest Mark, Trainers will need to either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events. This special Infernape can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Infernape if you’ve already caught it to obtain other rewards—including significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon, treasures that can be sold at Pokémon Centers, items for improving your Pokémon’s stats, and Rock Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type.
