Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) and Sega of America have announced that Sonic the Hedgehog and his team will cross over with DC’s Justice League of America next year. The crossover will begin with a five-issue monthly comic series, written by Ian Flynn, in which the JLA and Team Sonic must team up to save both their worlds. (Flynn is a writer for IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog comics.) The limited series will launch in March 2025. WBDGCP and Sega will also collaborate on a consumer products collection that will include apparel, toys, collectibles, and more.
Sega teased the crossover on September 21 (Batman Day) on the Sonic Instagram with a video showing Shadow in a Batman suit. Ivo Gerscovich, head of Sonic Brands announced the crossover on September 24 during the annual Sonic Central livestream event.
The third Sonic movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, is set to premiere in theaters on December 20, 2024 (see “‘Sonic 3’”).
