Cryptozoic Entertainment has announced that it will feature numerous recent releases, previews of upcoming games, and several exclusives at Gen Con Indy 2024, August 1-4 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
At Booth #801, Cryptozoic will go big on the DC Building Game series, led by recent releases Justice League Dark and Rivals — Shazam vs. Black Adam, plus Crossover Collection 2, Crisis Collection 2, and Rebirth One-Shot Packs, all three of which are releasing the first day of Gen Con. DC DBG fans can look forward to limited Kickstarter Exclusive copies of some titles, including Flashpoint and Legion of Doom. Fans can also get the exclusive Convention Promo Pack 2024, which includes four new cards, and an exclusive Justice League Dark Playmat. During the show, Cryptozoic will reveal the next DC Deck-Building Game title.
The Epic Spell Wars series will have an equally large presence at the booth, with the premiere at Gen Con of two new titles: Epic Spell Wars: ANNIHILAGEDDON 3 — SATANIC PANIC, the third deck-building game, and Epic Spell Wars: Anarchy at the Arena, the sixth spellcrafting game. Fans can also purchase the exclusive Epic Spell Wars: Egregious Ephemera, the second volume of spellbook-shaped storage boxes featuring new cards and tokens for the Epic Spell Wars: ANNIHILAGEDDON series.
In addition, Cryptozoic will highlight its recent successful Adventure Time Kickstarter campaigns with demos of Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game and exclusive Adventure Time Card Wars Promo Mug Standees, given free with purchases over $50.
Finally, Cryptozoic will offer tournaments and preview events throughout the show for DC Deck-Building Game and Epic Spell Wars. Prizes include an exclusive I, Vampire Event Promo Card for DC Deck-Building Game participants and large-scale hand-crafted trophies for both the Epic Spell Wars spellcrafting card game and Epic Spell Wars: ANNIHILAGEDDON tournament winners (plus ESW winners will appear in future games).

Epic Spell Wars: Egregious Ephemera: This epic storage box looks like a real spellbook and includes 12 promo game cards, 6 Dead Wizard Tokens, a Tongue Token, and 3 Ability Tiles for the Epic Spell Wars: ANNIHILAGEDDON series of games. It provides a great home for tokens and tiles from the games in the series as well. It will sell for $30.
DC Deck-Building Game: Convention Promo Pack 2024: This exclusive pack includes three standard cards plus an oversized Doctor Fate card. All cards are designed for DC DBG: Justice League Dark and the Justice League Dark Expansion, but are compatible with any titles in the series. Fans can get the pack for free with DC Deck-Building Game purchases of $100 or more, or they can buy it for $10.
DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark Playmat: Designed for DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark, the playmat makes setup super simple. Featuring original art created for the game by Ryan Benjamin, the playmat measures 29.5 x 16.5 inches and will be available for $25.
DC Deck-Building Game: I, Vampire Event Promo Card: Designed for DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark, this card features Andrew Bennet (a.k.a., I, Vampire). It will be available exclusively for participants of DC Deck-Building Game events during the show. Any extras will be available on the Cryptozoic website at a later date.
Adventure Time Card Wars: Promo Mug Standees: These Cool Guy and Dweeb standees celebrate the unprecedented success of last year’s 10th anniversary Kickstarter and the development of new Adventure Time Card Wars products (to be announced soon). Each set of standees is free with a purchase over $50.
Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game: Cryptozoic’s recent Kickstarter campaign for this tabletop RPG based on Cartoon Network’s beloved series received over $1.63 million in pledges and more than 7,600 backers. Built as a fifth edition (5E) tabletop RPG, it uses the d20 system and allows players to use the core roleplaying game classes to stage heroic quests, hilarious encounters, and emotional journeys with the citizens of Ooo. Cryptozoic will have demo sessions each day of Gen Con. Fans who missed out on the campaign can still take advantage of Late Pledges on BackerKit to get all the books, dice, and various exclusives.
DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark and Justice League Dark Expansion: This entry in the DC Deck-Building Game series puts 2-4 players in the supernatural shoes of the DC team that steps in when challenges arise that are too mystical for regular Super Heroes. Each player becomes a member of the Justice League Dark as they Seal the threats of magical Super-Villains and Transform their cards into more powerful forms. The expansion transforms the game by introducing new game cards and letting players become Circe and her Injustice League Dark. Justice League Dark will be available for $50 and the JLD Expansion for $20. Cryptozoic will have a small number of copies of the Kickstarter Edition of DC DBG: Justice League Dark (which includes the JLD Expansion) at the show as well.
Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: ANNIHILAGEDDON 3 — SATANIC PANIC: Releasing on the first day of Gen Con, the third deck-building game in the series turns up the heat as one player can become Satan, playing with over 80 tarot-sized Satan cards and a special rulebook called “So You Want to Be Satan: A Guide to Being Evil.” Whether players use Satan or not, the game includes the most over-the-top gameplay in the series yet, with over 400 game cards, Satanic Mayhems, all-new Spellbooks and Familiars for each Wizard, Demon cards, Deadly Sins Dead Wizard Tokens, and Damned Wizard Tokens. It will sell for $55. There will be a few copies of the Kickstarter Edition (with 45 additional cards) available at Gen Con.
Epic Spell Wars: Anarchy at the Anarchy: Releasing on the opening day of Gen Con, the sixth game in the Epic Spell Wars spellcrafting card game series features over 150 intense cards, 8 Wizards, and lots of new gameplay elements, like Champion cards, Rally cards, Dead Wizard tokens (no more Wizard eliminations), and Applause tokens. It will be available for $35.
DC Deck-Building Game: Crossover Collection 2: Releasing on the first day of Gen Con, this collection brings together three fan-favorite Crossover Packs that take you to the past (Justice Society of America), present (Green Arrow), and future (Legion of Super-Heroes). The “Redux” version of Crossover Pack 2 replaces images from the Arrow TV show with art from Green Arrow comic books. All oversized cards have been upgraded to foil and the collection includes the Cyclone Promo Character card and first printing Shadow Lass Promo card. It will sell for $30.
DC Deck-Building Game: Crisis Collection 2: Releasing on the first day of Gen Con, this collection brings together the third and fourth Crisis Expansion Packs, which expand any DC Deck-Building Game base set with cooperative gameplay and tons of new cards. Players have to take on Crisis events and Impossible Mode Super-Villains that will put them to the test. All oversized cards have been upgraded to foil and the collection includes the Red X Promo card and first printing Project Thaumaton Promo card. It will sell for $40.
DC Deck-Building Game: Rivals – Shazam! vs. Black Adam: In this magical entry in the Rivals series, players can shout “Shazam!” and find themselves at the center of the battle between the iconic rivals. Each player has three unique Character cards, each with more incredible abilities and a higher cost than the previous one. Will Shazam be able to assemble his super family in time to defeat Black Adam or will Black Adam achieve victory no matter the cost? The game will sell for $25. There will be a limited number of copies of the Kickstarter edition at Gen Con as well.
DC Deck-Building Game: Legion of Doom: This Kickstarter Exclusive expansion pack adds 13 Legion of Doom Super-Villains based on the classic Challenge of the Super Friends TV series to any DC Deck-Building Game base set and comes inside a collectible box with a foil cover. Quantities are very limited and will sell for $20.
DC Deck-Building Game Crossover Pack 10: Flashpoint: Based on the classic comic book series, this expansion to any DC Deck-Building Game base set lets players become Flashpoint Super Heroes joining the resistance against the Amazonians, the Atlanteans, and their allies. It introduces an alternate 3-card row called the Timeline-Up, a collection of powerful cards that do not cost a lot, but have negative VP values. This Kickstarter edition includes exclusive packaging and cards for $25.
DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth One-Shot Pack 1 and 2: Players can expand their DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth experience with these two expansions. Each features 2 new playable Characters, their standees, and their Signature cards that can be unlocked during the Rebirth Campaign. Each pack also contains a new Scenario that can be played between the normal Scenarios of the Campaign, allowing you to unlock even more cards for that Campaign, or as a standalone Scenario with special rules. Each expansion will be available for $20.
