Everything you need to know about Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka in Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX, the strategy and battling Pokémon game for mobile platforms, is now available for download on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). In celebration of the game’s popularity, special in-game events and rewards are being offered for all players to take part in on a regular basis.

Steamroll Pasio with this support sync pair that can dominate battle with a variety of field effects.

Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka are a Rock-type support sync pair with powerful field effects that can really stack the odds against your opponents. Their Alola Solidarity Trainer move increases the Physical Moves ↑ Next effect and Special Moves ↑ Next effect of all allied sync pairs by one rank and applies Alola Circle (Defensive) to the allied field of play. Alola Circle (Defensive) powers up all allies’ attacks and sync moves and reduces the damage allies take from attacks and sync moves. These bonuses get even better with each additional sync pair on your team with the Alola theme skill!

Once your team is rocking with the Alolan vibes, Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka can really turn things up with their buddy move, Ginormous Rock Tomb. This monumental move lowers the target’s Speed by two stat ranks and turns the field of play’s zone into a Rock Zone, which raises the power of Rock-type attacks. Ginormous Rock Tomb also increases the Physical Moves ↑ Next and Special Moves ↑ Next effects of all allied sync pairs by one rank for an even bigger damage boost.

For more details on this sync pair’s passive skills and moves, check out Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka’s in-game sync pair scout screen. Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka will be available to scout from July 30, 2024, at 11:00 p.m. PDT until August 25, 2024, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.

Olivia & Lycanroc

Elio (Alt.) & Stakataka bring two primary strengths to any team: they can apply Alola Circle (Defensive) to the allied field of play with Alola Solidarity and they can set a Rock Zone with Ginormous Rock Tomb. Olivia & Lycanroc have the Alola theme skill and utilize Rock-type moves, so they boost the bonuses of Alola Circle (Defensive) and do more damage when a Rock Zone is in play. If you really want to crash down on your opponents, this combination of kahuna and trial-goer will do the trick.

Olivia & Lycanroc are available to scout from the general pool of 5★-sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Alola Ticket Scout.

Kukui & Lycanroc

Like Olivia & Lycanroc, Kukui & Lycanroc are a Rock-type sync pair with the Alola theme skill, so they’ll benefit from both Alola Circle (Defensive) and a Rock Zone. As a tech sync pair, Kukui & Lycanroc aren’t known for having a high damage output, but these two field effects make their Accelerock and sync move far more powerful when targeting a single opponent. They can also lower their opponents’ Defense with Leer, which is handy for pumping up their entire teams’ damage output.

Kukui & Lycanroc are available to scout from the general pool of 5★-sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Alola Ticket Scout.

Rock with it, Trainers!
